'Sense and Sensibility' Hi-Res Pics
I've found five hi-res pics of BBC's upcoming 'Sense and Sensibility'. Thought I would share. I'm really looking forward to this adaption. I hope I don't over hype myself.

ss1 Hattie Morahan as Elinor and Charity Wakefield as Marianne
ss2 Dominic Cooper as Willoughby
ss3 David Morrissey as Colonel Brandon
ss4 ss5 Dan Stevens as Edward Ferrars

Thank you for posting these! Mm, Dominic Cooper. :) I had no idea he was in this adaptation. It'll be interesting to see David Morrissey as Colonel Brandon after he was so horrible in Our Mutual Friend...

My sentiments exactly! I hope Colonel Brandon doesn't come off as quite so creepy as Bradley Headstone...but my guess is that DM must be a good actor to do what he did in OMF, so he should be able to pull this off well enough. ;-)

Thanks for sharing; these were lovely! I wonder why Edward Ferrars is in his shirtsleeves chopping wood, though. I mean, besides the sweaty Austen hero moment, of course. ;)

I was thinking the same thing. It looks like Andrew Davies wants to give Edward a "Darcy in the lake" moment! Which is fine with me; IMO, Edward is under-appreciated. But - chopping wood? They had servants...

Andrew Davies said he wanted to butch up Edward, and give the audience another 'Darcy' moment.

Really? For a moment there I thought it was a montage'd userpic with Daniel Craig instead of Thornton.

I know in the US it'll be airing in Feb. on PBS. Not sure when the BBC is going to air it, I heard January, but who knows.

Lovely pics! I always think of David Morrissey in Blackpool, so I'm looking forward to seeing him as Brandon. Has this screened in the UK yet? We had the Jane Austen season here in NZ, and this wasn't included, so I assumed this must not have screened?

the Jane Austen season was produced by ITV; Sense and Sensibility is a BBC production.

Ahh, great! Didn't know that. We don't get a lot of updates on that sort of stuff here in New Zealand. I look forward to seeing it either way, when it eventually does screen here!

I must say, doesn't Willoughby look a little too obviously rakish? Attractive, sure, but you can tell just by looking at him that he's been deflowering defenceless underage girls left and right.

I too will be interested in seeing David Morrissey as a romantic hero. I just watched Blackpool two weeks ago so that's the image I have of him in my mind at the moment. He was very scary in OMF, but I liked him in Framed.

Hey thanks for sharing those pics, they're great. I'm not sure I'm going to like this production as much as the film, though... I simply loved Alan Rickman as Colonel Brandon. The girls look okay though and I like Edward too. Wickham... will be okay too, I guess, but I don't like this Colonel at all. But it's possible that it's just the in the pictures, maybe I'll like them better when I actually see the adaptation. :)

Don't quite like the looks of the actors

Edward Ferrars looks ok, and so does Elinor, but wasn't Marianne supposed to be very beautiful? I agree with the people who think Willoughby seems too obviously villanous. I don't like Brandon- he looks too bland and colourless.

Well Marianne wasn't described as beautiful. Elinor was, but Marianne has the personality and spirit that attracted everyone. I'm not going by the actors looks, a picture doesn't really give me any idea. Yes, I know what they look like but I wanna see how the act the part. I still wanna see this.
